BIRD WATCHING
Guided Highveld Birding Tour (Hike)
Time - approx 1.5 hours Level - Gentle
Beginning at the Malolotja picnic site, this gentle trek is appropriate for all ages and fitness levels.
Stroll the habitat of the blue swallow on this delighful bird watching walk.
HIKING
Malolotja Falls Guided Hike
Time - approx 3 hours - (Solid walking time - add hours for relaxing & picnic etc) Level - Strenuous
Beginning at Logwaja Veiw Point, this hike takes you to the beautiful Malolotja Falls - the highest in the country.
This strenuous walk is a dawdle downhill - it's coming back up that leaves this excursion for the hard-core enthusiast!
Full Day Hike
Time - All day - Level - Strenuous
Beginning at Logwaga Veiwpoint this walk takes you past the Malolotja Falls and on to the Potholes of the Komati River. Crossing the river 11 times (be prepared to take your shoes off or walk in wet boots!), this gorgeous walk ambles along the Valley and ends at the Komati View Point. Pick up can be arranged
Community Homestead Tours
Time - approx 8 hours
This combination drive / walking tour will introduce you to modern Swazi life. Experience rural Swaziland and the warm sunny hospitality of the Swazi people. The tour includes a visit to a school & a tour of a rural homestead where you will be served a traditional lunch. These packages can be tailored to suit individual requirements and fitness levels.
Fishing
Hawane Dam is fully
stocked with many fish species, namely Carp, Bream, Bass, Barbell and Trout.
Fishing is also available at Maguga Dam.
Ngwenya Mine Museum
Time - 1.5 hours - Level - Moderate
Once the largest open cast iron ore mine in the world, Ngwenya Mine boasts incredible views of the Swazi high-veld.
The visitor centre at the Mine hosts a museum of mine artifacts and equipment. A tour of the museum is followed by a walk to the Lion's Cavern, the oldest mine in the world (ochre) with breathtaking views over the Barberton Mountains.
